Hormone Replacement Therapy & Testosterone for Women

Modern hormone therapy is safe, individualized, and backed by extensive global medical consensus. We reject the outdated, fear-driven misinformation of decades past in favor of bioidentical hormones dosed specifically for your body and monitored with vigilance.

Our Clinical Philosophy

Evidence-Based, Individualized Dosing That Adjusts Over Time

Hormone therapy is not one-size-fits-all, nor is it a set-it-and-forget-it prescription. At The Menopause Clinic, we evaluate your symptom severity, metabolic profile, cardiovascular risk, and bone density factors.

We begin at low, physiologically appropriate starting doses, checking in through our patient portal and scheduled visits to titrate treatment until you feel balanced, energized, and clear-headed.

Physician & Nurse Practitioner Co-Led: Overseen by Dr. Steven Youngblood (Board-Certified Internal Medicine) and Crystal Burke (FNP-C), ensuring every treatment plan meets both endocrine and whole-body medical safety standards.

What We Prioritize in Modern HRT

  • Body-Identical Molecules: Utilizing 17β-estradiol and micronized progesterone identical in molecular structure to the hormones your body naturally produced.
  • Non-Oral Estrogen Delivery: Bypassing the liver to prevent clot risk and avoid spiking blood pressure or inflammatory C-reactive protein.
  • Careful Follow-Through: Frequent dose adjustments based on your symptom notes, not just isolated lab values.

The Three Core Pillars of Hormone Care

Delivered through the safest, most bioavailable methods available in modern medicine.

Pillar 1: Estrogen Therapy

Transdermal Estradiol

Available as a weekly or twice-weekly transdermal patch, daily gel pump, or mist spray. Delivered directly through the skin into the bloodstream.

• Eradicates hot flashes and night sweats

• Preserves bone mineral density

• Protects arterial flexibility and cognition

Pillar 2: Progesterone

Oral Micronized Progesterone

Natural bioidentical progesterone (Prometrium), taken at bedtime. Mandatory for all women with an intact uterus who take estrogen, to protect the endometrial lining.

• Complete uterine protection against hyperplasia

• Crosses the blood-brain barrier to calm anxiety

• Promotes deep, uninterrupted restorative sleep

Vitality
Pillar 3: Testosterone

Compounded Female Testosterone

Precision-compounded cream or gel formulated at safe female physiologic concentrations to restore energy, muscle tone, mental drive, and libido.

• Revives spontaneous sexual desire and climax

• Restores lean body mass and physical stamina

• Elevates daily motivation and mood resilience

Testosterone Safety & Clinical Monitoring Protocol

Strict safety compliance protects your health while maximizing clinical benefits.

Testosterone therapy for women is an extraordinarily effective tool for energy, brain fog, and sexual wellness, but it requires diligent clinical oversight. To ensure complete safety:

  • One In-Person Visit Per Year: Per medical safety standards, patients receiving testosterone therapy must complete at least one in-person visit per calendar year at our New Orleans clinic (900 Camp St).
  • Baseline and Follow-up Labs: We verify baseline total and free testosterone, lipid profiles, liver enzymes, and CBC before initiating therapy, repeating labs at 8 to 12 weeks to confirm you remain safely within physiologic female reference ranges.
  • Tier Requirement: Patients on testosterone therapy must be enrolled in our Comprehensive or Concierge membership tiers to accommodate the required monitoring and clinical visits.

Clear, Transparent Lab Testing

We do not mark up laboratory tests or force you into exorbitant proprietary panels.
